Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, Inc (NYSE: DTG) is anticipating a highly successful Arabian Travel Market (ATM) next month, with regional expansion initiatives at the top of the company’s agenda, according to senior representatives.
“The Middle East remains a heavily car-reliant market and Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group is adapting our strategy to ensure that consumers have access to the transportation they need under the current economic conditions,” said Sam Eltibi, executive director, Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, MENA and Asia Pacific.
Commenting on the future plans for both brands in 2009, ElTibi said, “Dollar Rent A Car and Thrifty Car Rental will continue to remain strong players in the market. We expect a great summer, with people traveling. We have started to see some locations get fully booked and we expect a lot of last-minute business.”
In addition, Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group has a region-wide expansion plan in place for 2009 and negotiations are in final stages for markets such as Turkey, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
“We will continue to innovate and anticipate our customers’ needs as we develop our businesses. Dollar Thrifty remains committed to firmly establishing its reputation as one of the region’s premier automotive rental groups and participating in events such as ATM is vital to strengthening our foothold in the region’s increasingly competitive car rental market,” ElTibi said.
"The 2009 ATM exhibition offers DTG the ideal opportunity to create new relationships and strengthen existing ones, which are vital in today''s diverse and competitive market. During ATM, DTG and our licensees will build stronger links with trade buyers, corporate buyers, wholesalers, and tour operators," Mr. ElTibi concluded. |
